Day 4
Overview of assignments
1.Project
2.Portfolio
3.Skills demo
The main steps for preparing a video(Project)
1.Set project goals.(ask yourself why are you making this video?)
2.Brainstorm ideas (with few other people discuss your ideas, views on the video)
3.Consider the timeline (think about how many parts, what length of time, plan)
4.Define the key scenes
5.Decide on the level of detail
6.Sketch out all the scenes, make the Storyboard. Shot selections.(draw squares on a page and sketch the scenes)
7.Double check everything. Do it!
Maybe Podcast?
There is a choice of doing a podcast as your project too, but most of the class have been thinking about doing a video. Including myself, I just think the 15 minutes is soo long to do. Our teacher thinks the podcast is much easier to do.
Orientation of shooting video
We discussed how to make our video landscape or portrait orientated, basically if you are filming for social media accounts it's better in a portrait form, where if it is filmed for TV, YouTube or other big screens then it should be landscape orientated. Pick the orientation you're filming depending where it is goin to end up.
Copyright images
Next topic we started covering was the copyright pictures, and I came to conclusion that it is very serious. If you have a business/commercial page then it is very strict and it's best to not copy any pictures, videos for your page, but make your own, same applies to the music used in the videos. Very important topic especially if you are a business.
#business
Coming back to making your video for Project, we have to add it to YouTube and then embed and share here on our blogs.
