Internet history
Today we learned about internet history, that started as far back as the year 1969! Wow, I didn't think it was that old! It was called the Arpanet. It was a first way of sharing information digitally and it started the Internet revolution.
Social Media Platforms
Then teacher Brian told us about history of Social Media platforms like Skype, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube. He even found old pictures of them. See below:
Strategies for social media platforms
We learned the strategies for being on the social media platforms.
Strategy #1
Be on all the platforms, but do one of them really well. You have to see which platform is better suited for your business. All Social media platforms are different and have different types of users.
Strategy #2
Measure Up. It's not all about the numbers(the quantity of views, followers etc.). It is more about audience fit (it's about the right people that are really interested in what you do, your business).
Niche is what works best on the internet. Be original, different and most importantly be yourself.
Then we also discussed what content gets best traffic of people. The greater the overlap of the right target audience the greater engagement. We had a look at some samples of social media.

Your audience Persona
We had to think, what is our (business) ideal audience, what is their persona, and where are they active? This can help you figure out how to reach people on a more personal level, while delivering the right messages, offers, and products at the right time.
It's important to get connection with your audience on an emotional level.

How business can inspire for action
We also watched Simon Sinek's video with a strong message(how business can inspire for action):
In this video Simon Sinek is talking about how the worlds main leading organizations, companies, leaders(like Apple, Microsoft etc.) operate, act and communicate, that is in a complete opposite to everyone else way. He shows this in a very simple graph, called golden circle. From the middle to outside:
1. Why? (very few know why they do it! Not the profit-that is the result. Why- what is the purpose, cause and the belief? Why your organization exist?)
2. How? (only some know how they do it. The process)
3. What? (every organization know what they do 100%)
This simple chart explains why these successful companies, leaders inspire. It is very hard to know the answer to this why? But you should always start your business and answer to these questions in this direction 1.-3., starting with why?
I think this is very inspiring video, stop and think why?, before you start doing the normal way that everyone else does. In this way your business can be successful.
