Day 2

 Blogger

Today we started with turning on our PCs and we opened accounts on Blogger.com.

Picked the titles for our blog. For most of us in the class it was the first time creating the blog. As teacher said, this is the basics of Social Media. It's a simple way of learning how to post. Blogs are not as popular as they used to be, because the new types of Social Media platforms have taken over and are much more efficient way to reach your audience.

Creating domain and website

Teacher Brian showed us of how easy and quick it is to buy a domain and create a website. He purchased domain and created a website www.tallaghtsocial.com . Absolutely unbelievably fast to be exact in 11 minutes! Couldn't believe how quick he has done it and anyone really can do. He used tucows/enom domain hosting website, but he also suggested Wix and Squarespace as a user-friendly web for hosting/creating websites.

Those of us who didn't have a Twitter account opened one today. Then we followed teacher Brian.

The New Medias coming of age

Embedding a video

We also learned how to embed (add video to the blog). Follow these steps:

1.Click share button under the video

2.Click embed button

3.Copy the text that opened up in a small window beside the video

4.Then open the blog, click html view

5.Then after all leave few lines blank and paste the copied text

6. Then save your progress by clicking save button or click publish if you are finished. Done!

Moodle

At the end we opened our Moodle page(Moodle is a learning management system), where the teacher is putting information about the course and any slideshows that he adds, so that in case if you miss a class you can check the main points of each class).
