Day 14

 Course revision

Today teacher Brian have planned to do a revision/review of what we learned in the course so far. So I can say it was mainly a revision day. As it get's closer to the end of our lovely Social Media for Business course, we need to hurry up and start completing our work on Portfolios, skills showcase(website or Facebook page) and our projects(1minute video). We went through the slides that Brian created about the course on Moodle.

Nostalgia

Brian showed us one of his most recently created posts on his Facebook page Pirate.ie

He told us it probably is one of the greatest posts this year. He visited an old Radio Studio site on Radio Valleri International AM and SW. Clonturk, Drumcondra, Dublin. He showed it as an example of nostalgic content. Nostalgia is huge when it comes to connect people to emotions. All of us should try touching people's feelings/emotions when creating content for our own businesses.  It also reminded me what we talked about on previous classes, that most interesting content you can get is when you get up and go out searching for it, and that's exactly what Brian did here. Well done! 👍

Brian also reminded us of Benjamin Franklin's quote: "It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation, and only one bad one to lose it." Hard to add anything, it is just so true.

Also a little reminder of example of really good, interesting account on Twitter is TG4TV account. They are very good social media listeners. Their content is very up to date. Recently they went to the Baftas and interviewed Irish film actor Paul Mescal, their post reached over a million views.

Opportunity with web

There is an opportunity with web for everyone. Now everyone can publish and can have equal opportunity to be successful. For example, Brian's website www.newsvendor.com is just as good as CNN news website.

ChatGPT test

On one of the classes we were going to test the new ChatGPT and we did now. We asked couple of questions, one of the questions was- is the world flat?  and chat answered us no it is not flat it is spheroid shape. And the other question it couldn't answer, possibly the network to fault. So it was 50% success rate with it.

CAPTCHA

What  is CAPTCHA? It stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart" A CAPTCHA is a type of challenge–response test used in computing to determine whether the user is human. This test was proposed by Alan Turing in 1950, so that's why it is known as Turings test. CAPTCHAs provide challenges that are difficult for computers to perform but relatively easy for humans. For example, identifying stretched letters or numbers, or clicking in a specific area.

Patreon

Patreon is a model of funding. In a simple words it's a way to get money (support). You can only get this support if there's value in your content. To check whether your content is right test it on social media like Instagram. And make sure you bring your content to the right audience(market). Particular content has to reach particular audience. It probably refers back to finding out who is the persona of your audience you need to reach. Trying to get inside their heads.

Then we also looked on a Facebook account Gratitude Healing. There was one thing a little bit out of place, where the person was shooting the target, and the video was described as selfcare and empathy. But this doesn't match the description. Conclusion is- be very careful when posting videos and information. It has to match the concept of the business.
